Each of these adhesives is ideal for the bonding of paper that is press coated with a variety of resins, such as vinyl chloride and varnish for box making, sealed wrapping, and bookbinding.

Nichiei Kako's products cover a wide range of bonding applications and have excellent initial adhesion without contaminating or dissolving objects to which the adhesives are applied. Furthermore, these adhesives have excellent mechanical properties and stable strength with no viscosity or state changes caused by roll rotation or temperatures. Therefore, they are ideal for any type of coated paper processed in a variety of high-speed folding and gluing machines. The adhesives, however, are not suitable to paper coated with varnish mechanically applied or processed with polypropylene or polyethylene.

This series of adhesives is ideal for the bonding of breathable and absorbent paper or cloth to polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyamide, which has been considered impossible because polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyamide are chemically stable plastic components. This series of adhesives is water soluble, and has excellent workability ideal for mechanical and manual bonding applications (e.g., the labeling of polyethylene molds and the pasting of polypropylene sheets). Furthermore, it is also a great feature of this series to cover a wide application range of processed paper bonding including the bonding of moisture-proof cellophane and cardboard (for window frame protection for example). Use this series of adhesives undiluted or diluted with a little amount of water.

The development of a variety of high-speed machines has involved the pursuit of quick processing. As a result, higher initial tackiness and strong adhesion performance are required from adhesives. The P-series LIFE BOND adhesives satisfy these conditions. The product is ideal for high-speed continuous bonding with little viscosity change caused by the high-speed rotation of machines. This series has excellent tackiness and quick-drying properties and is suitable to a variety of high-speed applications (e.g., gluing machines, bag-making machines, carton formers, sealing, and paper tube making).

* This series is not suitable to resin-coated paper, except for P-5500L, P-5900, and P-5500S, which can be used for lightly water-repellent cardboard.
Different products are available for highly water-repellent cardboard and water-resistant cardboard.

* For high water-repellent cardboard
Water-repellent solutions different in type from conventional ones have been recently used to make water-repellent cardboard, which causes difficulty in cardboard bonding. LIFE BOND No. 1 AV-650TL will work in most cases. For highly water-repellent cardboard, however, Nichiei Kako recommends LIFE BOND AV-785 or AV-788, both of which form flexible film, thus quickly adhering to the cardboard surfaces. Furthermore, both AV-785 and AV-788 have good mechanical workability and demonstrate their performance significantly in midwinter, in particular.

* The P-9300L is an environment-friendly adhesive of non-phthalic, non-solvent type with excellent mechanical workability for ultra high-speed gluing machines.

This product is ideal for the bonding of ordinary paper (e.g., Kraft paper or cardboard). Various adhesives consisting of vinyl acetate emulsion are commercially available these days, among which this product ensures the best suitability to paper. The replacement of conventional types of adhesives, such as rice paste and other natural adhesive paste, with this product will improve bonding efficiency with strength, drying performance, and workability ensured in every respect.
(Applicable to inserting paper, paper tubes, paper bag making, bookbinding, box making, and catalog making.)

It is possible to use this product alone or in combination with the conventional types of adhesives, such as rice paste and other natural adhesive paste, or polyvinyl acetate. The product is well miscible with rice paste, in particular. Therefore, the use of the product approximately mixed with rice paste will make strength, efficiency, and economic performance improvements. In any case, the product ensures a good rate of dilution with water with a low viscosity down rate. Furthermore, the leveling of this highly economical product with paper is good with little foam generation.

AP-260

This is a pressure-sensitive adhesive that is applied to both sides of application surfaces. The surfaces are strongly bonded when pressed with fingers after the adhesive is dried.

The product is suitable to the bonding of strongly warped cardboard and the dried surfaces can be bonded at the time of assembly a few months after the surfaces are dried. The product features: (1) Quick drying, (2) Allows the stacking of applied objects because the product does not stick unless it is pressed, and (3) Lasts for a long time after the product is applied. Let a sponge (made of polyethylene if possible) absorb the product as it is (or the product may be diluted with 10% to 30% water depending on the application), apply the absorbed product to both surfaces thinly, and dry the surfaces. The surfaces will be bonded strongly if they are pressed together with fingers whenever necessary.

* The product does not adhere to surface coated paper.

This product is a transparent aqueous solution with high liquidity and ideal for the bonding of ordinary paper including Kraft paper, cardboard, and cellophane. The product powerfully bonds plain cellophane sheets and labels with no wrinkles if the product is diluted approximately 5 to 15 times. Furthermore, the product used with rice paste in combination accelerates the drying speed of the rice paste with an increase in bonding strength. The product can be used to adjust the viscosity of emulsion as well.
